Mom’s Girls

Tyler and Ali catching frogs. Laughing and playing outside. Squished together at the dinner table. Homemade tamales for dinner. Freshly-sliced strawberries on cheesecake. Delicious Creme-filled-white-chocolate covered frozen strawberries (from China!)-Kayla and Mealani must have eaten 5 or 6 each (as well as Juanjo!). Showing mom how to use her new computer. Catching more frogs, and explaining why we have to let them go. Talking baseball. Checking out what my dad has growing in the garden this spring (the most lusciously chartreuse-green lettuce, hot peppers, and plenty of raspberries and strawberries for the fruit-fiends among us). Giggling with Kayla, Mealani and all the girls. Hearing my mother’s laugh. Admiring how beautiful and healthy she is at 65. This is my family (albeit missing a few people), spending a lighthearted, joyful Mother’s day together.
