Charles Bridge at Night

On the way home from my first evening out in Prague. Prague so far measures up to the built up expectations I had from all the wonderful things people had told me. The charm of the looping river, the red and green copper rooftops, the old gothic to baroque to art deco buildings. Bridge after bridge gracefully arches across the Vltava River, which dominates the city in a large sweeping loop. The streets are filled with people late into the night, both tourists (mostly European) and local Czech people (mostly young couples). The city has the grandeur and majesty of the old European capitals, but feels intimate and small like a charming town. I have only caught a glimpse of the city, but to see more pictures (not yet organized or labeled-sorry!) go to my Flikr page.
